This beanie worn by Skinny Pete throughout the Breaking Bad series, ended up playing an important role in the series’ film sequel El Camino. Skinny Pete gives his iconic beanie to Jesse as an aid to his final escape from the police. The beanie worn in El Camino is a replica of the original, showing just how rare an item this became.

I spent years trying to identify the brand of this beanie, to no avail. One wardrobe person who had worked on Breaking Bad told me they believed it came from American Eagle. After the release of El Camino on Netflix, comments began to emerge on platforms such as Reddit.com of people saying they used to own the same one. However, there were conflicting comments about where it came from. Some people said Kmart, others said Target. To my excitement, one finally appeared on Ebay, and with some luck, I was the winner. Thinking this was my chance to finally identify the brand of this beanie, I was shocked to find the only tag inside had been cut out! The seller of the beanie could not remember which store they had purchased it in. So it remains a mystery.
